The Western Michigan women’s basketball team fell big to the Mid-American East division leading Bowling Green Wednesday in Bowling Green, Ohio.

The Broncos only trailed by two, 32-30, at half time. However, the East leading Falcons ran away with this one in the second half, settling with a final score of 72-50.

The Falcons enjoyed lights out shooting from beyond the arc, as they nailed 12 out of 26 three pointers. Guard Jillian Halfhill notched  six of those threes on her way to a game high 22 points.  Alexis Rogers scored 16 points for the Falcons and Erica Donovan had 12.

Good post play and rebounding kept the Broncos in this one for some time, Miracles Woods dropped 14 points and 11 rebounds. Jessica  Jennings added 11 points and seven rebounds off the bench.

Poor shooting became the deciding factor in this one,  the Broncos only shot 32.8 percent from the field and a meager 14.3 percent from the three line.

With the lost the Broncos fall to 5-5 in conference play, and 9-12 on the season. Bowling Green improves to 19-3 and 9-1 in conference play.

The Broncos will have another stern test as they face off against Akron, who sits second in the MAC East division, Saturday.
