With the loss, WMU finished the regular season in third place behind Miami and Notre Dame.

Michigan State scored 10:07 in the first period which proved to be enough.  Anthony Hayes found a loose puck in front of the Bronco net, turned his body, and fired a shot that beat WMU goalie Frank Slubowski who was stickless on the play.

WMU ended the game going 0-for-4 on the power play.  The Broncos outshot the Spartans 28-21.

WMU has a bye in the first round of the CCHA playoffs and then will host a second round matchup at home inside Lawson Ice Arena on Mar. 15-17.
