After a 3-1 victory on Friday night, WMU tied FSU 2-2, and lost in a shootout on Saturday.

According to USCHO.com, WMU is tied for 6th in the Pairwise rankings, the system primarily used for the NCAA tournament selection.

Senior tri-captain Dane Walters leads the team with 11 goals, followed by junior Chase Balisy (8) and freshmen blue-liner Kenney Morrison (7).  The three also lead the team in points with 20, 18, and 16 respectively.  Sophomore goalie Frank Slubowski has started every game this season racking up an impressive 16 wins, .922 save percentage, and 1.78 goals against average.

WMU plays host to CCHA rival No. 3 Miami (OH) on Friday and Saturday in a national top ten match up.  Miami (OH) leads the CCHA with 44 points, but WMU is right behind them in second with 43.  With a possible six points up for grabs this weekend, the series could go a long way in determining the final regular season champion in CCHA history.

Stay tuned for Thursday’s preview of the weekend series against the Miami (OH) Redhawks.
